"The real power of outsourcing going forward is going to be that it increases an organization's core capacity for change and growth. The business challenges over the next decade are going to be very different than anything weve seen so far and the companies that weave a powerful network of global partners through outsourcing will be the winners" - Michael Corbett, Chairman IAOP
There are 2 types of tasks that lend themselves particularly well in being outsourced:
For example, the finance, IT or HR functions of your business need to be in top shape but they are not essential to your business strategy; this then can be outsourced to an external agency that has expertise in this field and supports your business.
Data entry, cleaning services etc. need to be carried out but can be better left in the hands of someone whose main business is just that. It will free up your time and resources allowing you to focus on your core business strategy.
This varies entirely from business to business. Some small businesses may start outsourcing from the get-go. They cannot afford to lose focus and want the flexibility that outsourcing brings. For others the spur to look into outsourcing is rapid growth.
Consider the size of your business and everyone's role within it. Do all your staff members have daily tasks, crucial to the core function of your business to be getting on with, or can they take out some part of their day to carry out the necessary but non-strategic tasks? If their main job role needs to be carried out all day every day with little or no distraction, then it is definitely time to outsource.
Outsourcing can prove advantageous and could be critical to the future success of your business. Why not start by cloud accounting and outsource your finance role?
