Accountex 2016: The sun continues to shine on Cloud Accounting

The Accountex exhibition, the annual showcase for cloud accounting packages, was recently held at the ExCel London, for the second year running.

Cloud Accounting software packages are on the rise, along with the number of businesses wanting to use them. We met with various providers such as Xero, Quickbooks Online, Sage and many others. This enabled us to gain a better understanding of the products along with various ‘add-ons’ including Ocrex, Receipts Bank, Chaser and others, all strengthening our ability to assist our clients going forward. H M Revenue & Customs gave a presentation on ‘Making Tax accounts Digital’. Although this move is in a consultation stage at present, we as agents and as advisers can see a shift in the coming years for taxpayers to become digitalised using such software as mentioned above.
